Jesus meets you where you are so you don’t have to use the excuse that you’re not ready or you’re too messy. He meets you in your mess.

honestly i just think we all need to slow down

like. im serious. when was the last time you read a book and paid attention to every word and actually tried to absorb what you were reading. when was the last time you saw a piece of art and considered the hours it took to bring it into fruition. when was the last time you closed your eyes when listening to an album for a first time and kept them closed until the final song ended. have you gone to the park lately just to watch the birds fly from perch to perch? have you stopped to count your blessings?

Joseph ran from a situation that could have resulted in sin. Staying put and having a mental debate is dangerous and most likely won’t end up going well for you and your relationship with God. There is no justification for sin. Remember that the flesh is weak, and no matter how firm and guarded we think we are in saying no, it only takes a moment to be overwhelmed by the pull of the flesh. Paul wrote about his struggle in Romans: “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do” (Romans 7:15). Leaving the situation you shouldn’t be in (or that will put you in the situation you shouldn’t be in) is wise. Removing either yourself, or the object of temptation depending what the situation is, will save you from much physical/emotional/relational/spiritual devastation.
